A New Year For Railroads

Happy New Year to all the readers of this blog.

PTC has been delayed. Passenger traffic is so-so. Rail shipments are down across the board. Recent polling has the industry insiders believing that 2016 will be a year of declining freight carloads. Coal is on the ropes and shippers will be putting more pressure on freight rail to cut rates and provide better service. (As if this never, ever happened before.)

Watch this space, as they say in the news business.
